Pelion peninsula is one of the few regions in Greece where you can easily combine a mountain and beach vacation. Archontiko Blana Traditional House is located in Vyzitsa, one of the mountain villages of Pelion. According to Greek Mythology Mount Pelion was the home of the Centaurs. Pelio has 24 picturesque villages, most of these villages, including Vyzitsa, look the same as they did centuries ago. Built in the unique traditional architecture and tucked away amongst lush green woods. The famous, picturesque villages of Portaria, Makrinitsa, Vyzitsa, Tsagarada, Zagora among others are more and more frequented by Greek and Foreign visitors.

Using Archontiko Blana Traditional House as your base, you could visit Volos city situated 30 kms away with its pleasant pedestrian arcades, many museums, visit one of Volos' famous Tsipouradika where you can drink ouzo or tsipouro served along with the traditional Volos region dishes. The port of Volos is also a gateway to the nearby Sporadic islands of Skiathos, Alonissos and Skopelos. Staying at Archontiko Blana you can drive to the nearby skiing resort of Hania.
Vyzitsa village build on the west side of the Pelion Peninsula faces the Pagasitic bay south of Volos. Vyzitsa is spectacular with beautiful old houses made of wood and stone, some of them converted into hotels and guesthouses. The sound of water is everywhere in Vyzitsa as streams rush through the village. The nearest beach to Vyzitsa village, Koropi beach, is just over 6 kilometers away.

There is a public bus service as well as a train service from Athens and from Salonika to Volos. From Volos there is a bus service to Vyzitsa village, 30 kilometers away where Archontiko Blana is situated. Apart from public bus and train services, you can drive to Vyzitsa village in Mount Pelion through the extensive Greek motorway road system. Approximate journey time by car to Vyzitsa from Athens is 5 hours and from Salonika 3 1/2 hours.

Archontiko Blana Traditional House was build back in 1827 and represents a perfect example of Pelion architecture. It was been lovingly restored by it's present owners, to it's present state retaining all it's old grandeur and atmosphere. On entering Archontiko Blana the detail of carved wood is evident in not only the Blana's lounge with the fireplace but also in it's 4 traditional rooms.
Archontiko Blana offers a lounge with a fireplace with fantastic views both to the mountains and the Aegean sea. For those that wish to relax there is also a Sauna on offer. There is also a garden area and a parking area. Archontiko Blana is famous for it's rich, traditional breakfast it offers, made of local produce.

Blana traditional house offers just 4 rooms, all traditionally furnished and and restored to it's original 1827 look but with all the modern comforts. All 4 bedrooms offer a private bathroom, color TV, radio, telephone, safe box, heating/air-conditioning and a mini bar. The honeymoon suite also offers a hydromassage bathtub.
