| Troulos has a superb beach which has 3 tavernas and a restaurant on the beach serving traditional Greek food at reasonable prices. Troulos beach with clear shallow waters is ideal for children and there are also a good selection of water sports while a round the island boat trip operates daily from 10am for 15 euros. A 5 minute walk through the meadow from Antonios studios will take you to the beach or alternatively a 10 minute walk along the main Skiathos to Koukounaries main road. Troulos is one of the liveliest villages on the island with a variety of bars, restaurants and traditional Greek tavernas. There is also next to the studios the Kalivy taverna which is run by Antonio and his family who own the studios. The Kalivy is regarded as one of the best value traditional Greek tavernas on the island and which people come back to year after year to meet old friends. Skiathos Town is only 30 minutes away 9 kilometers away. 500 meters away from Antonios studios there is a bus stop, from here you take bus number 18 to Skiathos town. The bus service in summer runs from 7am until 3am every 10 minutes up to midnight when it reverts to a 30 minute service. Koukounaries is a 10 minute bus ride and 20 minutes walking along the coast road with stunning island views. Other beaches close by include Vromolimnos, Maratha, Golden Beach, Banana Beach, Mandraki, Elias and Asselinos and can be reached either by walking or by bus. There is a supermarket Victoria ideally located 50 metres from the studios. | |
