THASSOS
ISLAND GREECE- Anyone lucky enough to visit the Emerald
Island of Thassos will find plenty to see and do. For a start,
the impressive traditional settlements in the villages of
Theologos and Limenaria. In Potamia, the visitor can see the
folk museum and the Byzantine churches of Saint Nikolas and
Saint Dimitrios. A visit to the islands capital is a wonderful
chance to see the archeological museum and the magnificent
ancient Theater of Limenas, that every summer houses the Cultural

and other specialties of the Mediterranean cuisine, in the

HOW
TO GET TO THASSOS ISLAND:
From Airport Megas Alexandros at Chrysoupolis Kavala to
Keramoti port 12 kms away by either bus or taxi. From Keramoti
port to Limenas port in Thassos, it takes 45 minutes by
ferry boat
From Limenas port to Skala Potamias one can take the bus
or a taxi, the distance is 12 kilometers Alternatively from
Kavala port to Limenas port it takes 40 minutes by high
speed boat. Also from Kavala port to Prinos port in Thassos
there is a ferry boat that takes 1 hour and 15 minutes Then
from Prinos port to Skala Potamias the distance is 25 kilometers. |
